Running in parallel with the finals, we will have 5 presentations from representatives of great organisations talking about EX. The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion made up of all the presenters, to discuss the state of EX.

How will the sessions work?


The sessions will start around 10 and finish after lunch.

Five 30 minute sessions on the state of EX, with time for questions.

5 EX specialists from the region and beyond will talk about the state of EX.

The sessions will be followed by a 30 minute panel discussion. The panel will answer questions from the audience and the chair.

Finalists, non-finalists and judges will be invited to attend.

Wellbeing and the Future of Employment:

Although growing steadily over the last few years, employee wellbeing has experienced three years' worth of advancement since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic. However, for around half of UK employees, the crisis highlighted how inadequate their employer support is. With the long-term health impacts of the pandemic expected to last a decade, employees and consumers are demanding employers do more to support the wellbeing of their staff. In this talk, psychologist, and bestselling author, Gethin Nadin will discuss why the future of the employee experience will centre heavily around wellbeing. Gethin Nadin is a psychologist and bestselling author who has worked in the HR tech space for two decades. He’s a frequent speaker and writer on HR issues, employee engagement, employee experience and wellbeing. As well as the most well-known HR magazines, Gethin has been published in The Financial Times, The Huffington Post and The Guardian. Gethin is one of the world's top 100 employee engagement influencers, is listed on the employee engagement power list and is a founding member and Co-Chair of the Engage for Success Thought Action Group on Wellbeing.

Julia looks back on over 20 years in communication and advertising with one decade as communications consultant and business leader and a bit more than one decade as People, Talent and Learning leader. She recently joined Volvo UK to help them on their journey to a truly engaging digital learning and customer/employee experience.

Businesses often forget how their internal customer base (their employees) are affected and unsettled by change. What role does communication play in reassuring and engaging disparate teams? And how can communication impact your employer brand? In times of uncertainty, trust is more important than ever. In this session, communications specialist Red Lorry Yellow Lorry will share tips and best practice to help make sure your internal communication builds trust in your business.

Hannah is currently the Managing Director of RLYL EMEA. She looks after communications strategy, client servicing, and growth for the lorries in the UK and European markets. She spends her time working with clients including Superdrug, Three Mobile and eBay – supporting the creation, implementation and management of written tone of voice designed to engage customers and employees equally. When asked to describe herself she says: “I am very lucky to have an ambitious and creative team in London and Berlin, who are all far smarter than me! Outside of work, I'm a keen (but average) runner, a dedicated (and over-protective) dog mom, and an avid (spreadsheet driven) travel planner.
